Occupational Therapy
An occupational therapist works with you to make daily activities—like getting dressed, cooking, bathing, moving around the house, or enjoying hobbies—easier and safer. As we age, these tasks can become more challenging. At Rehab2Home we help facilitate a safe transition for older adults if they have had an admission in the hospital or rehabilitation facility and back home.
Services can include:
-Navigating the discharge process with families
-Assessing the home for safety and risk
-Recommending modifications or equipment
-Personalized exercises to improve strength, balance and daily living skills

This therapy teaches exercises and techniques aimed at enhancing muscle strength and coordination. For older adults, the benefits can include fewer bathroom accidents, improved control, reduced discomfort, and increased confidence in daily life. Additionally, pelvic floor therapy contributes to better balance, posture, and overall core strength, making everyday activities safer and easier.

How does pelvic floor and occupational therapy work?
Taking a holistic approach means treating individually by considering all aspects of a person's life and wellness. Addressing digestive health, physical health, mental health and social health and wellbeing, we end up focusing on what the client wants to get back to doing. You have a choice in your treatment and can opt in or out of anything we recommend.
How long do I need to attend pelvic floor therapy or occupational therapy?
It depends on the person and the severity of the issues and what the goals are for the client. We create our treatmentllans with clients to decide what length of time is recommended and what works for their daily needs.
Do you do internal work for pelvic floor therapy?
We offer many treatment options, including internal work. We believe there is no one right way to do anything. Every person has choices in their healthcare, and we honor and respect our clients care. You may choose any options of treatment, and you may choose to opt out.
Do I need a doctor's order to be seen for pelvic floor or occupational therapy services?
Yes, and we prefer you to have one ready for your first appointment. We are able to see you for an initial consult without one but require a doctor to sign our plan of care. This is so everyone is on board and is taking a multidisciplinary approach to your best treatment.
"Meeting Taber many years ago at Park Ridge Hospital turned into a blessing. With a firm but friendly attitude, Taber assisted guiding me on the road to recovery. Her expertise and general knowledge provided very useful. Being a practicing medical physician I thought I knew what I needed to do, guess I was wrong! Thanks Taber"

"Taber helped my family enormously when we had to find nursing care and eventually end of life care for my father. This is a very hard process for any family to go through, and Taber's knowledge and compassion made it so much easier for us during a difficult time. If your family is facing any of these very difficult decisions and you feel overwhelmed or lost, I highly recommend Rehab2Home. Taber will compassionately walk you through the process to give you the peace of mind. Thank you, Taber!"
